Our Journey So Far
100 Miles for Bryson
In February of 2025, April completed a 100-mile Ultra Marathon in Henderson, Nevada in order to raise money for a baby boy born with only partial extremities. The money raised went directly to his family to help them with his unique needs including prosthetics, physical therapy and home renovations. Bryson has an incredible future, and we are cheering him on.

Miami Marathon for Lilah
In January of 2026, April ran 26.2 miles for a two-year-old girl named Lilah with a very rare, aggressive form of brain cancer. This diagnosis required her to undergo multiple surgeries, hospitalizations, chemotherapy and stem cell treatment. The money raised went directly to Lilah's family to help with these needs and encourage them on this journey.

Every Mile Matters
April represented the Heart and Sole Foundation in the Boston Marathon and London Marathon in April of 2026 to raise support for Greensboro running leader, Thad McLaurin. Thank you to those who gave to support Thad and his family as he battled lung cancer. Thad was such an amazing example of determination and optimism in the midst of difficulty. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers as they grieve his passing. He will be remembered dearly in the running community of Greensboro and will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Please check back in the coming weeks for what comes next at Heart and Sole. We will continue running races and making every mile matter.
